Beautiful Julian apples!
Just an hour’s drive from San Diego, though some 4500 feet higher, is the backcountry town of Julian. Nestled in the local mountains, this wonderful little town boasts fresh water fishing, waterfalls, forested hiking trails, old gold mines, cute B&Bs, and perhaps most famous of all – apple pies. Lots and lots of apple pies.
In recent years though, Julian has started to become known also for its wine tasting rooms. There are half a dozen up here already and the fit with the town is perfect. Country charm, apple orchards, wonderful restaurants, art galleries, beautiful scenery, all a perfect setting in which to enjoy the craft of local winemakers.
